Welcome to the Sydney Snorkeling blog
Hello and welcome 👋
We’re really glad you’re here.
We created this blog because people ask us a lot of questions about snorkeling in Sydney. The ocean can be amazing, but it can also feel a little confusing or intimidating if you don’t know where to start.
Think of us as your friends who know all the best snorkeling spots and have the skills to help you have a great time snorkelling.
We’re passionate ocean lovers and local guides, and we spend a lot of time in the water around Sydney. Whether you’re a first-time snorkeler or someone who already loves the ocean, this blog is here to help you feel confident, prepared, and excited about exploring Sydney’s incredible underwater world.
Our goal is to help you enjoy the ocean safely and have a great time doing it. For many of the people who go on one of our tours, it’s the first time they have ever snorkelled and it’s such a privilege to share this fun with them. It really makes us happy to conquer a fear (swimming in the ocean), trying snorkelling as a new skill, or learning how to skin dive and get closer to marine life to see it up-close.
Why we created this blog
Sydney is a beautiful place to snorkel, but it’s not always the same every day. That makes it beautiuful because you can snorkel many days in a row and have a completely different experience. This means different marine life and conditions, making some locations better than others depending on the day.
We noticed that many people:
Wanted to make the most of their snorkeling experience
Wanted to know more about visibility and marine life
Wanted to learn snorkelling tips/tricks
Weren’t sure what conditions mattered
Didn’t know how to snorkel safely
So we created this blog as a simple, friendly place to share what we know. It’s based on real experience, not guesswork. If you snorkel with us, all of this knowledge is embedded in the way we run guided tours.

How we think about safety and conditions
This part is really important to us.
Snorkeling is fun, but the ocean deserves respect. Conditions like swell, wind, waves, and visibility can change quickly, even on a sunny day.
When we recommend a snorkeling spot, we think about:
How calm the water is
How clear the visibility might be
How protected the area is from waves
Whether it’s suitable for beginners or kids
Sometimes the best advice is actually not to snorkel that day, or to choose a different location. And that’s okay.
We believe that good snorkeling experiences start with the right conditions. Feeling safe and relaxed makes everything more enjoyable — especially if it’s your first time.
